At what points in Forza 3 do you start races in higher positions? - SmarterGamer most recent 30 from http://smartergamer.com2010-09-09T14:32:51Zhttp://smartergamer.com/feeds/question/507http://www.creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.5/rdfhttp://smartergamer.com/questions/507/at-what-points-in-forza-3-do-you-start-races-in-higher-positionsAt what points in Forza 3 do you start races in higher positions?John Rudy2009-11-24T21:29:07Z2010-08-29T08:22:17Z

Pretty much self-explanatory. I'm playing through the career on Forza Motorsports 3, and am now starting at position 6. When I started the game, I was starting at position 8. (Both of these are assuming an 8-car grid.)

I'm fairly certain this has to do with driver level, but I'm not sure what the progression rate is. Does anyone know the progression?

So the standard progression appears to be:

Driver Level Grid Position
1 8
5 7
10 6
15 5
20 4
25 3
30 2
35 1

However, there are exceptions, notably on more advanced races. There, your car also becomes a factor. It is my current belief that these are your highest possible starting positions; other conditions may lower them. (I've had one race when I should have been position 2 where I started in 3, and another where I was pole and started at position 3.) I need to do more fact checking and verification on how the progression actually works.
