The most effective way in my experience on the highest difficulty, involves players setting the tank on fire using a Molotov, and then running together back through the level until it burns out. It's not quick, but it's a pretty safe tactic as on the highest difficulty taking on a tank in a straight fire fight is largely futile. |

Generally what my buddies and I do is disperse enough so we can see rapidly who is it following. When we have determined that, we start trying to protect that person, allowing him to run to a secure place while the We generally save |

I love tanks on expert, it's very addreneline pumping action. If you all have auto shotties then you can shoot the crap out of him quite quickly but the problem with that is you have to be close. I'd say keep your distance and shoot with the AK or hunting rifle. Also, if you just run away from him he'll die automatically after a while. If he get somone on the ground then I just roll up behind him with a shotty and pump his back with all 10 rounds, if that doesn't finish him off I leg it. |

A little exploit you can use is that it will immediately chase anyone who gets on the mounted turret. |

Tanks in versus and coop mode are different as mentioned, so the actual tactics differ. Common things:

Even though its not really practical, but i once was in a group where we all 4 took sniper rifles exactly when the tank appear and shot it . It went down really fast .. however, the zombies nearly overran us. |
