We currently run Sims 2 on a Windows XP Home machine.

Is it possible to run Sims 2 work on a Vista or Windows 7?

Has anyone tried this? Did it work?

I haven't tried Sims 2 yet (mostly because I didn't like it when I had it on XP), but I managed to get Sims 1 working under Vista for my father with no hiccups. My hunch is that since Sims 2 is newer, it's probably more likely to work. You may need to run as administrator, however.

Thanks, tried it now, It has to be run using run as administrator. You still get a compatibility warning, but it appears to work OK. – Shiraz Bhaiji Oct 18 at 20:35

You can run it in Windows XP compatibility mode on Windows 7.

Yes, the Sims 2 works on Windows Vista - I have it on my computer now, running Vista.
