Every now and then I am interested in a new Browsergame. Not as often as during my student times, but sometimes.

Now, the market is developing/changing pretty rapidly. I'd like to collect a list (CW) of Science Fiction based Browsergames.

The purpose is, that I have a quick overview over the possibilities and with that an indication of the popularity of the game.

If you have a proposal, please:

give the Name, the URL and a short description why this game is worth being played.

I used to play Planetarion a long time ago. Probably the best of these games I played. Unless it has changed you control a planet and you're grouped by galaxy, cluster, etc. generally you ally with the rest of your galaxy coordinating attacks to obtain resource asteroids from other planets.

Alliances of galaxies often form so that you can have allies to assist in the protection of entire galaxies. It looks like the game is still going. Not sure how popular it is now.

I'm afraid a purely german Sci-Fi Browsergame was SpaceNations. It was and is a really complex game that offers a large galaxy to spread your planets (although exponential growth is not possible). You can create your own ships (research and integrate every component of the ship) for different purposes (colony, war, sabotage, invasion). Playing as a team is very important there, thus rendering diplomacy pretty important. I think that was what I liked most. Negotiating and Coordinating the alliance.
It seems the game is not the popular - which is really sad.
(Ok, I don't play either - due to lack of time).

I used to play Ogame but I quit after they started allowing players to purchase advantages over other players. (Pay real money for advanced features and such) Also because of the disastrous things that inevitably happened when you forgot to log in.

Maybe you can also provide some points that made Ogame interesting. The list should provide a guide if someone (e.g. me) wants to start a new one. Your entry is not really something that would help me reach a decision. – StampedeXV Feb 11 at 18:30

Does Quake Live count? Technically it's sci-fi I guess...

That's not exactly what I was thinking about when writing the Question. Although I think technically you are right. :) – StampedeXV May 6 at 8:23
