Doesn't help if I add .stackexchange.com either.

I just get "This is an OpenID we haven't seen on SmarterGamer before" like I've never been on here before. It only wants me to create a new account (my account still exists, I can get to my profile through my questions).

Other SE sites are fine.

Any idea when this bug will be fixed?

This has happened to me also, but I found a temporary fix as long as you set up an email address with your account.

  1. Click the 'User' tab.
  2. Find your account that you want to recover.
  3. There will be a link called 'Is this your account?' above your account name.
  4. A pop-up will show where you type in your email, once sent open your email follow the link provided. It will automatically sign you back in.

OK this worked, but I first had to go into Firefox settings and delete the existing smartergamer cookie called "user" in order to logout. Only then was I able to see the is this your account link, which worked as you said. I'll upvote this one but ironically I'm not sure if I can mark it as the accepted answer now my old cookie is gone :) – MOwen Mar 17 at 0:02

I updated the site so it redirects to smartergamer.com instead of letting you stay at smartergamer.stackexchange.com. That's probably the cause of the problem. I don't have an easy fix for the behavior you're seeing, unfortunately, but hopefully TrickyM66's tip works for you.
